I want to take some time to talk about one of the many ways Ridgewood Moving Services helps our local community! But before I do that, take a look at the photo below:

Dumpster

I was recently on a residential move with one of our clients and discovered this dumpster sitting outside the shed. As you can see, there were a ton of items that were thrown out in the process of moving that were no longer needed. Even though our clients are moving all of their items to another location, they typically have a bunch of things that they no longer need.

This especially applies to food in the house. Many people stock up on food to keep it on hand in the house, but when it’s time to move, they may have no use for it anymore. This is exactly why we partnered with Move For Hunger, which allows us to donate unwanted, non-perishable items to local food banks in New Jersey. In fact, Ridgewood Moving Services was one of its earliest supporters!

Move For Hunger, a highly renowned non-profit organization, has worked with over 330 movers in 42 states. It has collected over 680,000 pounds of food to donate to food banks, making a huge difference in the world. Because this is such a fantastic idea, it made sense for Ridgewood Moving Services to help Move For Hunger with its cause.

Here’s an example of one of our client’s generous food donations from a move:

Move For Hunger

Wow! Two boxes completely filled with food! This is exactly what I’m talking about. This food could have been thrown away and become wasteful, but it’s now being donated to those that need it. Ridgewood Moving Services is proud to work with Move For Hunger to make this happen.
