Here at Ridgewood Moving Services (Ridgewood Moving), we enjoy giving back to the community. We often help out non-profit organizations, like Move For Hunger and the Center for Hope and Safety, in order to make a difference in other people’s lives.
As you may know, Move For Hunger’s mission is to end world hunger. Partnering with moving companies like Ridgewood Moving, it asks clients to donate nonperishable food items that they no longer need so that they can go to food banks that need them. Not only have we collected food for Move For Hunger in the past, we’ve also used our trucks and men to help deliver the food ourselves!
That’s why Move For Hunger awarded us with being one of the 2016 Partner Movers of the Year! The organization has recognized our moving company as having gone above and beyond others that have supported it in the past. We’re extremely honored to have received such a reward, so thank you so much Move For Hunger!

2016 was an amazing year for Move For Hunger. Increased participation within the relocation industry allowed our network to collect more than 1.4 million lbs. of food in the past year. We never would have thought that, in just a few short years, Move For Hunger would be able to deliver over 7.6 million pounds of food food banks and pantries all across the United States and Canada. We cannot thank our partners enough for their enthusiasm and support of our mission to end hunger. Each year, Move For Hunger is able to honor members from our partnering van lines and associations who have gone above and beyond to give back to their communities. These members have embraced the Move For Hunger spirit by incorporating fighting hunger into the way they do business. Throughout this past year, these members have hosted food drives, assisted community food banks, teamed up with local businesses, and joined our race team, all in the name of hunger relief.
